Multi-Faceted Commercial Playground Renovation Completed at Southeast Rio Vista YMCA Preschool by Pacific Play Systems
San Diego-based commercial playground company, Pacific Play Systems, has just completed a new project for a Los Angeles YMCA preschool. The project took place at Southeast-Rio Vista YMCA in Maywood, a small city in Southeast Los Angeles County. At the start of the project, Rio Vista contained an older, existing play structure that Pacific Play demoed and removed to make room for a new custom Playcraft playground. The new Playcraft playground was custom designed by Pacific Play and Playcraft designers. The play structure features a striking color scheme of blue, tan, and brown, and contains just the right level of challenge for younger children ages two to five. Rio Vista’s new commercial playground contains multiple slides and climbers, a variety of activity panels, and an Inclined Arch Bridge, among other components.
Along with Rio Vista’s existing playground, Pacific Play also demoed and removed the YMCA’s existing rubber tile surfacing, which was beginning to show signs of age. To replace these rubber tiles, Pacific Play furnished and installed just under nine hundred square feet of new blue and black poured-in-place rubberized surfacing. Poured-in-place surfacing is considered one of the finest commercial playground surfaces available. Additionally, Rio Vista’s new Playcraft playground was installed directly beneath the YMCA’s existing shade structure which is still in great condition. This large shade structure will offer plenty of sun and heat protection allowing children to spend even more time on the playground.
In addition to the main play area at Rio Vista, the renovation project also entailed several other aspects of work. First, Pacific Play completely transformed a shaded dirt patch located next to the main play area. In this area, Pacific Play furnished and installed seven hundred square feet of new artificial turf and a new Sand and Water Table. Next, Pacific Play transformed a second dirt patch into an additional play area. Here, Pacific Play furnished and installed a bike loop, a custom-designed Playcraft Gas Station Panel, a multi-paneled playhouse, two small sections of artificial turf, and a huge twenty-foot by twenty-foot shade sails structure. Finally, Pacific Play also furnished and installed two new chain link gates and a large new storage shed at Rio Vista.
Rio Vista’s newly upgraded play area will offer children a varied and exciting play space with no shortage of play opportunities.
