Southern Cal Playground Equipment Company, Pacific Play Systems Has Been Awarded the School Playground Equipment Renovation Project for Palm Springs USD
Palm Springs USD School Board has awarded Phase III, Bid Package Two project for the renovation of playground equipment at three schools to Pacific Play Systems. This project was competitively bid in two bid packages. Bid Package One includes demo, hauling, grading, site preparation for the installation of playground equipment, while Bid Package Two includes furnishing and installation of multiple playgrounds and rubberized surfacing at each of the three schools. The overall cost for this project, including both bid packages, is slightly over $3,000,000.00
This is going to be a fast-moving project with lots of coordination between the two general contractors selected for each bid package says Alex Bemanian, the Pacific Play Systems company representative who had a key role in gathering information for this project throughout the bid process. The tentative start date for the first school, Landau Elementary, will be in March, added Bemanian. Both Landau and Rio Vista Elementary receive a kindergarten structure, an upper playground, a number of swings and several free-standing items. The third school, Two Bunch Palms Elementary, receives a lower structure, a number of tetherball and basketball units, in addition to the items provided for the other two schools. Playcraft equipment had also been used on Phase One of the Palm Springs USD playground renovation project.
Pacific Play Systems will be supplying its state-of-the-art Playcraft school playground equipment for this project. Playcraft equipment has been installed at many public areas such as schools and parks throughout southern California. Prior to this project, Pacific Play recently completed installation of its Playcraft equipment at several parks for the City of San Marcos, including San Elijo Park, Woodland Park and Connors Park. Company also renovated the playground equipment for City of San Diego’s Walker Park a few months ago and plans of starting the renovation of the special needs playground for the City of Temecula Margarita Community Park later on this month. Pacific Play Systems utilizes Playcraft factory certified installers for the installation of its equipment and will be working with American Park Specialties on this project.
Tot-Turf will be used as a subcontractor for the installation of the rubberized surfacing portion of this project. Tot-Turf Supreme with 100% color will be used throughout this project. Tot-Turf Supreme is one of the highest quality rubberized surfacing products available in the market today, designed for high traffic areas at schools and parks, capable of performing well in harsh climates such as Palm Springs. Once the installation of playground equipment is complete at each school, a concrete sub base will be added as a sub-base for the PIP rubberized surfacing. Approximately 56,000 SF of rubberized surfacing will be provided at the three schools. The Palm Springs USD, Phase III, school playground equipment renovation project is scheduled for completion in June of this year.
