Large Commercial Playground Project Completed at Evangelical Formosan Church by Pacific Play Systems
A commercial church playground equipment renovation at a Garden Grove church has created an attractive and dynamic play destination. The project took place at Evangelical Formosan Church and was completed by Pacific Play Systems, a local San Diego-based company. At the renovation’s start, Evangelical’s play space to be was merely two dirt lots. Pacific Play would transform these into a dynamic play space with a variety of Playcraft commercial playground equipment. Including multiple play systems, freestanding activities, and new safety surfacing, the playground renovation at Evangelical has created an outdoor play destination that will undoubtedly receive tons of use.
Working with the blank canvas of two dirt lots, Pacific Play created a design that would provide compelling play opportunities for the wide age group of children attending the Church—children ages two to twelve. Pacific Play decided to create two separate play areas at Evangelical. One play area would be for younger children ages two to five, and the other for older children ages five to twelve. At the two to five play area, Pacific Play installed a new custom-designed Playcraft playground above new poured-in-place surfacing. With vibrant colors of blue, yellow, and orange, the playground features numerous activity panels, climbers, and a Double Wave Slide. The two to five playground also features a ten-foot Square Shade Canopy installed above the playground’s main deck. To complement this playground, Pacific Play also installed two new Playcraft Spring Riders above new engineered wood fibers.
For the older children at Evangelical, Pacific Play created a striking custom design utilizing Playcraft’s Revolution line of commercial playground equipment. This playground features a strong emphasis on climbing activities and a long, linear design. With over fifteen play activities, many of which encourage climbing and collaboration, the older children at Evangelical can discover a new favorite play component each time they play. Revolution components featured in this design include an overhead S-Shaped Ladder, Arched Lunar Climber, Tri-Ring Hub, Ripple Link, Gyro-Pod Spinner, and so much more. The playground features the same attractive color scheme as the two to five playground and was installed along with new engineered wood fibers.
Pacific Play’s scope of work at Evangelical also included the removal and hauling of over one hundred cubic yards of the Church’s existing dirt to create room for new surfacing, as well as the installation of a new sub-base for the poured-in-place surfacing. The Evangelical playground renovation has added two brand-new Playcraft playgrounds, freestanding equipment, and safety surfacing to this Garden Grove church, creating an outstanding play space.
